Lake Tahoe - Edgewood Tahoe Resort
πΊπΈ Nevada Β· United States β Altitude 1902 m
This camera looks out over Lake Tahoe, a large alpine lake on the Nevada side of the state line. It is useful for checking how the lake and surrounding mountains look right now before planning a trip or a day on the water.
Lake Tahoe sits high in the Sierra Nevada at roughly 1,900 metres, straddling the border between California and Nevada. It is one of the deepest and clearest large lakes in North America, ringed by forested slopes and peaks that often keep snow well into spring. The shoreline mixes resorts, marinas and quiet beaches, and the Nevada side is known for its casinos at the South Shore and calmer lakeside stretches around the North and East Shores.
The view is a nature feed, so the most interesting moments depend on the weather: calm mornings often bring glassy water and sharp reflections, while afternoon winds can roughen the surface. Clouds moving over the peaks change the colours of the lake quickly. Winter conditions bring snow to the slopes and shoreline, and summer light tends to be strongest in the middle of the day. The live player is the best guide to what conditions are like at this moment.
Summers are warm and dry with cool nights, while winters are cold and snowy, and weather can change quickly because of the altitude. Late June through September is the most popular time to visit for boating and hiking, and winter draws skiers to the surrounding resorts. Nearby cameras on this site include South Lake Tahoe, Zephir Cove and the Heavenly views above the town, which give different angles on the same lake and mountains.
