Schönau am Königssee - Jenner Bergstation
🇩🇪 Bavaria · Germany
This live view is aimed at the upper station of the Jenner cable car, high above the Königssee in the Berchtesgaden Alps. Watch the lake basin, the surrounding limestone peaks and the changing weather before you plan a trip. The stream is provided by its owner and embedded here with a link to the source.
Schönau am Königssee is a small village on the southern shore of the Königssee, one of the deepest and cleanest lakes in Germany. It sits inside the Berchtesgaden National Park, where steep walls of limestone rise straight out of the water. The area is known for its glacier-carved valleys, alpine meadows and the strong sense of quiet that comes with a lake surrounded by mountains on all sides.
As the title names a mountain station, the view is most likely the high ground above the lake, looking across the valley and the peaks. Depending on the view, you may see cloud moving over the ridges, fresh snow in winter or the haze of summer afternoons. Early morning and late afternoon often bring the best light, and clear days after a front passes are usually the most rewarding to watch.
The Berchtesgaden region has a cool alpine climate, with mild summers and snowy winters, and conditions on the peaks can differ sharply from the valley. Plan around the weather shown on this page and check the cable car schedule before going up. Nearby cameras in the Berchtesgaden area cover the FlyingCam, the Jennerbahn, the town itself and the Kehlstein, which help you compare conditions across the valley.
