Jenner - Jennerbahn au Königssee - vue sur le Hagengebirge et le Steinernes Meer
🇩🇪 Bavaria · Germany — Altitude 1800 m
This camera looks out from the Jenner mountain station above Königssee, a glacier-carved lake in the Berchtesgaden Alps. The stream shows the Hagengebirge and Steinernes Meer limestone ranges, so you can judge the conditions in the mountains before you travel. Live weather and local time are shown on the page below the player.
Jenner sits on the western shore of Königssee, one of the deepest and cleanest lakes in Germany, enclosed by steep walls of rock. The Berchtesgaden National Park surrounds the area, and the lake is known for its green water and the small church of St. Bartholomä on its shore. The landscape is dramatic and quiet, shaped by glaciers and limestone.
Judging from its title, the camera is aimed at the mountain panorama rather than the lake itself, with the Hagengebirge and Steinernes Meer ranges in view. Clear mornings tend to give the sharpest peaks, while afternoon cloud often builds over the ridges. Changes in cloud and snow cover are most visible from late autumn to spring.
The area is at about 1800 metres on the Jenner mountain, and conditions up here can differ strongly from the valley. Summers are mild and winters are snowy, with a lot of rain in the warmer months. Nearby cameras include the Schönau am Königssee station view, the Hohes Brett view to the east, and the Berchtesgaden FlyingCam and Jennerbahn streams.
