🇫🇷 Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes · France — Altitude 1810 m
This live camera looks out from the Les Boisses area above Tignes, a ski resort set high in the Tarentaise valley of the French Alps. Watch it to judge snow, cloud and visibility on the slopes before you travel or head out for the day.
Tignes sits at roughly 1800 metres in the Savoie department of south-eastern France, surrounded by glaciers, high pastures and steep peaks. It grew up as a purpose-built ski resort in the 1950s and is now linked to neighbouring Val d'Isère across one of the largest ski areas in the Alps. The reservoir and dam below the village give the valley a distinctive, open character that changes noticeably from season to season.
The view is most useful for checking snow cover, cloud movement and how the weather is developing over the upper slopes. Mornings often bring the clearest air, while afternoons can see cloud build over the peaks. Winter brings the strongest contrast of white snow and dark rock, and summer shows green hillsides and hikers on the trails. Depending on the view, you may also notice lift activity during the season.
Winter is the main season for skiing, usually from December into April, while summer suits walking and mountain biking when the high trails are open. Weather at this altitude can change quickly, so check the forecast on this page before heading out. Other cameras nearby include Tignes Brévières, Tignes Lac de Tignes, Tignes Val Claret and Val d'Isère Bellevarde, which help you compare conditions across the resort.
