This live camera looks out over the Starbase launch complex, SpaceX's test and launch site near Boca Chica on the southern tip of Texas. It is a useful window onto a working rocket facility, with the same live feed you can see on this page alongside local time and weather.
Starbase sits on flat coastal land close to the Mexican border, a few kilometres from Boca Chica Beach and the Gulf of Mexico. The area is known as a wide, low landscape of dunes, scrub and wetlands, with few buildings beyond the launch infrastructure. It is one of the few places in the United States where a commercial orbital rocket programme operates from a coastline that is largely open country.
The camera is pointed at the launch complex, so activity depends on what the site is doing on a given day, such as static fire tests, rollouts or launches. Views can change quickly with light and weather, and sea haze or cloud can soften the image. Early morning and late afternoon usually give the clearest light over the flat terrain, and activity is harder to predict, so check back at different times.
Southern Texas has a hot, humid subtropical climate, with summers that are long and very warm and mild winters. Spring and autumn are generally the most comfortable seasons for visiting the region. Nearby on VizCams you can open the Brownsville SpaceX Starbase camera, the Nerdle camera, the Sentinel camera and the multi-view Starship camera, all within a few kilometres.
