This live camera looks out over El Paseo, a town in the Coachella Valley of southern California. Use it to check current conditions before heading into the desert or to see how the valley looks right now. The page also shows local time and the weather forecast for the area.
El Paseo sits on the floor of the Coachella Valley, a wide desert basin east of the San Jacinto mountains. The area is best known as a center for date palm groves, golf courses and resort living, and it is a short drive from Palm Springs. The landscape is open, flat and framed by mountains, giving wide views and dramatic light, especially in the late afternoon.
The camera is most useful for judging daytime heat, visibility and sky conditions across the valley. Mornings are often calm and clear, while afternoons can bring haze or gusty winds. Sunset is a popular time to watch, when the mountains take on warm colours. Seasonal changes matter here, so conditions can look very different in winter and summer.
The valley has a hot desert climate, with summers that regularly exceed 40 degrees Celsius and mild, sunny winters that suit visitors. Spring and autumn are generally the most comfortable times to visit. Nearby cameras include Indio, Coachella, Palm Springs and the Thomas Mountain view in Riverside County, which together show a good range of the surrounding area.
