Munds Park

This live feed looks out over Munds Park, a pine-covered community in the Coconino National Forest at about 2,000 metres. Watch it to gauge mountain conditions, cloud build-up and the seasonal change from the high Arizona plateau.
Munds Park sits on the Mogollon Rim, the escarpment that marks the edge of the high plateau above southern Arizona. Its setting is ponderosa pine forest, cooler than the desert below and a common summer retreat for people from Phoenix. The surrounding landscape is quiet and wooded, with small lakes and trails nearby, and the area is known for its clear air and wide skies.
The camera shows the mountain setting as it changes through the day. Afternoon thunderstorms are common in summer, so clouds building over the forest are often the most interesting thing to follow. In winter, snow can settle on the pines, and the feed can be a useful check on conditions before a drive up from the lower desert towns.
Summers are warm and comparatively mild for Arizona, while winters are cold with occasional snow. Spring and early autumn are often the most comfortable seasons. Sedona, about 13 to 20 kilometres away, has several cameras of its own, including Red Rock and Seven Arches, which are useful for comparing conditions across the region.
