This live camera looks out over Cadaqués, a whitewashed fishing village on the Costa Brava in Catalonia. Use it to check the sea and the sky before you plan a trip, or simply to see what the village looks like right now.
Cadaqués sits on a small bay at the foot of the Cap de Creus peninsula, the easternmost point of mainland Spain. Its white houses climb the slopes above narrow streets, and for much of its history it lived from fishing and small-scale trade. The landscape is rugged, dry and windswept, with granite headlands and clear water. The village is also known for its long association with artists, which still shapes its galleries and quiet atmosphere.
The camera shows the village and its waterfront, so the view will change with the light and the weather. Mornings often bring calm water and sharp outlines, while late afternoon softens the colours of the houses. Wind is a strong factor here, so watching the sea surface can tell you a lot about conditions. Summer brings the most activity to the front, while quieter months show the village at its most local.
Cadaqués has a Mediterranean climate with mild winters and warm, usually dry summers, and the tramontana wind can blow strongly at any time of year. Spring and autumn are often the most comfortable months for walking. Nearby cameras cover Roses, Villelongue dels Monts, and the coves of Tamariu, which give you a wider look at this stretch of coast.
