Pollença - La Mola
🇪🇸 Balearic Islands · Spain — Altitude 290 m
This camera looks out from La Mola, a hilltop position above the town of Pollença on Mallorca. It gives a live video feed of the Tramuntana foothills and the surrounding countryside, useful for checking conditions before a walk or drive up into the mountains.
Pollença is a historic town in the north of Mallorca, set between the Tramuntana mountain range and the sea. Its old quarter, the calvary stairs and the surrounding olive groves and pine woods make it a favourite base for walkers and cyclists. La Mola sits at roughly 290 metres, high enough to see the valleys spread out below the town and, on clear days, the coastline toward the bay of Alcúdia.
The stream is most rewarding in the early morning and late afternoon, when low sun brings out the texture of the hills and the stone walls. Cloud can roll over the ridges quickly, so the view often changes within an hour. Watching during and after rain can show how the valleys fill with mist. Depending on the view, you may see walkers, the road winding up the slopes or open sky over the mountains.
Mallorca has mild winters and warm, dry summers, and spring and autumn are generally the most comfortable seasons for hiking in the Tramuntana. Summer afternoons can be hot at lower altitudes, so a higher viewpoint can be cooler. Other cameras nearby include Pollença Puig de Maria, Pollença Port de and Alcúdia, which together give a broader picture of the north coast weather.
