Solitude - Télésiège Powderhorn
🇺🇸 Utah · United States — Altitude 2700 m
This live view follows the Powderhorn chairlift at Solitude Mountain Resort, high in the Wasatch Range above Salt Lake City. It is useful for checking how busy the lifts look and what the slopes are doing before you head up. The stream comes from the resort and is shown here with its local time and weather.
Solitude sits in Big Cottonwood Canyon in the Wasatch Mountains of northern Utah, at an elevation of roughly 2,700 metres. The resort is known for its deep, dry snow and for a fairly quiet, uncrowded feel compared with busier nearby ski areas. The surrounding terrain is steep alpine country of conifers, rock and open bowls, and the canyon road leads up from the Salt Lake Valley below.
A chairlift camera is most useful for judging conditions on the mountain: whether lifts are running, how many people are queuing and how visible the slopes are. Mornings after fresh snowfall tend to be the most interesting, when the lift line is forming and the snow is still untouched. Clear days give the best visibility, while storms can reduce the picture to little more than the lift line itself.
Winter is the main season here, and the mountain is typically busiest on weekends and holidays, so early arrival helps. Weather at this altitude can change quickly, so check the forecast on this page before setting out. Other cameras at the resort, including the Link lift queue and the Moonbeam base parking area, sit within about a kilometre, and Brighton lies roughly two kilometres away for a broader look at the area.
