About Standley Lake
Standley Lake lies in Westminster, a suburban city north-west of Denver, at an altitude of about 1,700 metres on the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountain foothills. It is a large reservoir that supplies drinking water to nearby communities and has become a popular place for birdwatching, fishing and walking trails along its shore. The open water and islands make it a well-known stopover for migrating waterbirds.
