This live camera looks over the village of Fiesch in the Upper Valais, a small Alpine community at the foot of the Aletsch region. Check it to see the current scene and conditions before planning a trip, or simply to watch mountain weather move across the valley.
Fiesch sits in the Goms area of the Rhone valley, where the river runs broad and green between steep mountain walls. The village is best known as a gateway to the Eggishorn and the Aletsch Glacier, the largest glacier in the Alps, and to the ski areas above it. Its character is quiet and rural, with traditional wooden chalets and farmland giving way quickly to high pastures and forest.
Depending on the view, the camera may show rooftops, the main road, church towers and the surrounding slopes. Mornings often bring clear light on the mountainsides, while afternoon clouds can build quickly over the peaks in summer. In winter, fresh snow changes the scene noticeably, so the camera is useful for judging whether the slopes are white and the sky is open.
The Upper Valais has a continental Alpine climate with warm summers and cold, snowy winters, and conditions can differ sharply between the valley floor and the heights. Late June to September suits hiking, while December to March is the season for skiing. Nearby cameras include Fiescheralp, Fiescheralp Kühboden, Bellwald and Eggishorn, which show the higher terrain around the village.
