Lumnezia is a side valley of the Surselva region in the Swiss Alps, drained by the Glogn river and flanked by pastures, larch forest and steep rocky ridges. Its villages are small and traditional, and the Romansh language is still spoken here alongside German. The valley is quiet and rural, more about farming, hiking and mountain scenery than large towns or busy resorts.
The view is most interesting in the early morning, when mist often lies in the valley floor, and in late afternoon, when low sun lights the slopes. Snow cover changes the scene a great deal from winter to spring, and summer brings green meadows and cloud build-up over the peaks. Conditions depend on the weather, so the view can be clear or largely hidden by cloud.
Summers in the valley are mild and pleasant for walking, while winters are cold with regular snow at this altitude. Late June to September is generally the best time to visit for hiking. Nearby cameras on VizCams include the Badesee Davos Munts view about 4 km away, the Piz Mundaun view in Surcuolm about 6 km away, and the Vals Gadastatt camera about 11 km away.
