About the Grimsel area
Guttannen sits in the Hasli valley of the Bernese Oberland, at the foot of the road that climbs toward the Grimsel Pass. The landscape here is open high mountain terrain, with rock, meadows and reservoirs shaped by hydroelectric power. The Grimsel Hospice, a historic mountain inn at the pass, has long served travellers crossing between the Haslital and the Valais side of the Alps.
