Reinswald - Pfnatsch
🇮🇹 Trentino-South Tyrol · Italy — Altitude 2080 m
This live camera looks out over the mountain village of Reinswald in the Sarntal valley of South Tyrol, at about 2,080 metres above sea level. It is useful for checking how the high Alpine weather is developing before you hike or drive up the valley.
Reinswald sits in the upper Sarntal, a quiet side valley of the Sarentino area in the Italian province of Bolzano. The village is surrounded by forested slopes, alpine meadows and rocky peaks, and it is known as a base for walkers who prefer calm trails to busy resorts. Traditional farmhouses and small chapels line the valley, and the landscape changes noticeably with altitude, from wooded lower slopes to open high pastures.
The title points to the Pfnatsch area, so the view is most likely of the surrounding valley slopes and the village edge. Depending on the view, you may see changing cloud over the peaks, snow cover in winter and spring, and the greening of the meadows in early summer. Early mornings often bring clearer air in the valley, while afternoon clouds can build quickly over the mountains in summer.
Summers are mild and winters cold with regular snow at this altitude, so conditions can differ a lot between seasons. Reinswald is reached by road from Sarentino, and the drive up the valley is worth planning around the weather. Other cameras in the area are Pichlberg, Sattele and Sunnolm, all about one kilometre away, and Rastower in Sarentino, about nine kilometres off.
