๐ฎ๐น Aosta Valley ยท Italy โ Altitude 2485 m
This live camera looks out over the high alpine terrain around Cervinia in the Aosta Valley, at roughly 2,485 metres. It is useful for anyone wanting to see snow cover, cloud movement and visibility before heading up into the Matterhorn area.
Cervinia is a ski and summer resort in the Valtournenche, on the Italian side of the Matterhorn, one of the best known peaks in the Alps. Chamois is a small village reached by cable car, and the surrounding landscape is a mix of glaciers, rocky ridges and alpine meadows. The area sits within the Aosta Valley, a bilingual region in north-west Italy bordering France and Switzerland.
The view is set on a high mountain pass near Colle Fontana Fredda, so the most useful things to watch are weather and light rather than activity. Clear mornings often give the sharpest views of the peaks, while afternoon clouds can build quickly over the ridges. In winter, snow depth and fresh snowfall are easy to judge, and in summer the scene changes with thaw and wildflower season.
Cervinia has a high alpine climate, with cold winters that suit skiing and mild, bright summers suited to hiking. Late June to September is the usual window for walking at altitude, while December to March is the main ski season. Nearby cameras include La Magdeleine, the Bec Carre view in Valtournenche, Antey-Saint-Andre and the Goillet chairlift.

The current conditions and a three-day forecast are shown in the live weather block on this page. Because the camera sits at about 2,485 metres, conditions can differ noticeably from the valley below.
The local time is displayed on this page and updates with the live view. Cervinia uses Central European time, the same as the rest of Italy.
The camera is located in the Cervinia area of the Aosta Valley, close to the Colle Fontana Fredda, with coordinates shown on the map on this page. It is the Chamois side of the resort.
Clear mornings and periods after fresh snowfall tend to show the mountains most clearly. Check the live view before planning a trip, since cloud can hide the peaks for long periods.
