Nebelhorn - Nebelhornbahn - gare sommitale - Oberstdorf - vue vers le sud-est
🇩🇪 Bavaria · Germany — Altitude 2224 m
This camera looks out from the summit station of the Nebelhornbahn cable car, high above the Bavarian resort of Oberstdorf in the Allgäu Alps. It is useful for seeing how the mountains look right now, whether cloud is sitting on the peaks, and how conditions compare with the valley below.
The Nebelhorn rises to about 2,224 metres just south of Oberstdorf, close to the German border with Austria. Oberstdorf is the southernmost town in Germany and a well-known base for hiking and skiing in the Allgäu Alps. The summit area is a limestone landscape of ridges, grassy slopes and steep rock, with views stretching across the surrounding peaks and valleys.
The view faces southeast, so you can follow the weather as it moves over the high ridges and whether cloud forms or clears around the summits. Clear mornings often give the sharpest views, while afternoons can bring cloud build-up in summer. In winter, the snow cover and the sun on the slopes change noticeably through the day, which makes the camera worth checking before a trip up.
Oberstdorf has a mountain climate, with cool summers that suit hiking and cold, snowy winters that suit skiing. Conditions at the summit can differ sharply from the valley, so check the live weather block on this page before you travel. The nearby Oberstdorf cameras, including the Schanze ski jump and the Scheibenhaus view to the south, show other parts of the town and its surroundings.

The local time for the camera is displayed on this page and follows Central European time with summer changes. Use it to plan when to check the view for daylight or clear skies.
The camera is at the Nebelhorn summit station, reached by the Nebelhornbahn cable car from Oberstdorf. The map on this page marks its position in the Allgäu Alps near the Austrian border.
Early mornings in clear weather usually offer the most distinct view of the peaks. In summer, cloud often builds in the afternoon, so mornings are the best time to check if you plan a visit.
