Saint-Georges-de-Luzençon - A75 Viaduc de Millau Sud
🇫🇷 Occitania · France
This camera watches the A75 motorway as it runs toward the Millau Viaduct from the southern side, in the Aveyron gorge area of Occitania. It is a traffic camera, so it is useful for checking how the road looks before a journey across the Massif Central. The picture is streamed live by the road operator.
Saint-Georges-de-Luzençon is a small village in the Tarn valley region of southern France, known mainly because it sits beside one of the most famous bridges in Europe. The Millau Viaduct, completed in 2004, carries the A75 across the Tarn gorge at great height, and its cable-stayed masts are visible from far around. The surrounding countryside is limestone plateau, dry grassland and deep river valleys, typical of the Causses.
As a traffic camera, this view is mostly about the road itself: the approach to the viaduct, the flow of cars and lorries and the conditions on the carriageway. Traffic tends to be heaviest during summer holiday weekends and at the start and end of school holidays, when many drivers cross south towards the Mediterranean. Fog, rain and strong crosswinds on the high bridge are worth watching for, depending on the view at the time.
The region has hot, dry summers and cool winters, with the mountain areas often colder and windier than the valleys. Spring and early autumn are generally the most comfortable times to drive through. Nearby cameras on the same motorway, including those at Creissels and La Cavalerie, let you check the road further north and south before you set off.
