This live stream looks out over Saint-Pol-de-Léon on the north coast of Brittany, provided by the local tourist office of Roscoff. It is useful for checking how the sky and sea look before planning a trip along the Finistère coast. The live player, local time and weather are all on this page.
Saint-Pol-de-Léon sits a short distance inland from the Bay of Morlaix, in the Léon region of northwest Brittany. It is best known for its Gothic cathedral, its long history as a market and religious centre, and for the region's market gardens, which supply many vegetables to France. The surrounding countryside is flat and open, with farmland running down toward the sea and a coastline of small harbours and sandy coves.
Because the view comes from a tourist office stream, it is most useful for seeing current conditions rather than fixed landmarks. Depending on the view, you may notice the light changing over the coast, cloud moving in from the Channel, or the tide coming in and out. Mornings and late afternoons often give the clearest light, while the stream is most useful on days when you are deciding whether to head to the seafront.
Brittany has a mild, damp maritime climate, so temperatures stay moderate year round and rain is possible in any season. Late spring and summer are generally the most pleasant time to visit. Roscoff, the Île de Batz and Carantec are all within a few kilometres and are listed as nearby cameras on this page, so you can compare conditions along the coast.
