Kitzbühel
🇦🇹 Tyrol · Austria — Altitude 781 m
This live camera looks out over Kitzbühel, the old market town in the Kitzbüheler Alps of Tyrol. It is a good way to check how the town and surrounding slopes look before you travel, or to follow conditions from afar. The live player below is provided by the camera's owner.
Kitzbühel sits at about 780 metres in the Kitzbüheler Alps, a compact medieval town with narrow lanes, painted façades and a church tower at its core. It is best known as one of Austria's most prominent winter resorts and as the home of the Hahnenkamm downhill race, held every January. In summer the surrounding meadows and forested ridges give the valley a green, calm character that many visitors come back for.
The camera is listed as a town view, so it is best suited to watching daily life and the sky over the roofs rather than specific landmarks, which depend on the exact framing. Mornings often bring clear light on the mountains, while late afternoon can soften the colours of the rooftops. Snow cover, cloud and fog change the scene a great deal, so the live picture is most useful when you want to judge current conditions.
Kitzbühel has a continental Alpine climate: winters are cold and snowy, summers are mild and warm, and spring and autumn can be changeable. Summer hiking and cycling and winter skiing are the main reasons people visit. The Hahnenkamm cable car links the town with the mountain, and nearby cameras on the Hahnenkamm show the views from its arrival and departure stations.
