🇨🇭 Vaud · Switzerland — Altitude 2097 m
This camera looks out from the Grand Chamossaire area above Villars-sur-Ollon in the Vaud Alps. It is useful for checking how the mountain sky looks before heading up to the slopes or the high trails. The live player is embedded below, with local conditions beside it.
Villars-sur-Ollon is a mountain resort in the canton of Vaud, set on a sunny terrace above the Rhône valley and within reach of the Diablerets massif. The Chamossaire ridge rises to the north of the village and is known for its open pastures, rocky crests and wide views toward the Alpine peaks. The landscape changes sharply with altitude, from village meadows to bare limestone above the tree line.
The picture comes from a mountain location, so the most interesting moments tend to be early morning, when cloud often sits in the valleys, and late afternoon, when the light lowers across the ridges. Winter brings snow to the slopes and summer brings green meadows and grazing herds. Depending on the view, you may see changing cloud, fog moving through the passes or fresh snowfall, so the live feed is most helpful when you are deciding whether to travel up.
The resort is strongest in winter for skiing and in summer for hiking and cable-car excursions. Weather at this altitude can shift quickly, so check the forecast on this page before setting out and allow extra time for descent. Nearby cameras on VizCams cover Petit Chamossaire, Bretaye, Chaux Ronde and the Aiglon College campus, which help you compare conditions across the area.
