This live camera looks out over Tui, a historic town in Galicia on the Miño river, right across from Portugal. Watch the stream to get a sense of the town and its light before you plan a visit or a trip along the Way of St. James.
Tui sits on a hill above the Miño, where the river forms the border between Spain and Portugal. Its old quarter is dominated by a Romanesque and Gothic cathedral, and the town has long been a stop for pilgrims heading toward Santiago de Compostela. The surrounding landscape is green and gently rolling, shaped by vineyards, farmland and the wide river valley.
Depending on the view, you may see the rooftops of the old town, the river and passing traffic or the activity of the streets below. Daylight hours show the most detail, and clear mornings or late afternoons often bring the warmest light onto the stone buildings. Changing weather, from low cloud to sudden showers, can be easy to follow on the stream.
Galicia has a mild, damp climate, with the wettest months in autumn and winter and comparatively pleasant temperatures in late spring and early autumn. Tui is well suited to a day trip, and the nearby city of Vigo, about 21 km away, is a useful base with its own camera on this site. Other Galician cameras, including Celanova and Santiago de Compostela, are also listed below.
