This live feed looks toward Gaudí's basilica in central Barcelona, one of the city's most recognised landmarks. Check it to see how the towers and façades look right now before you head out, or to follow the light on the stone through the day.
The Sagrada Família is a basilica that Antoni Gaudí worked on until his death in 1926, and construction continues today. It stands in the Eixample district, a grid of wide streets and chamfered corners laid out in the nineteenth century. Barcelona sits on the Mediterranean coast of Catalonia, and the mix of modernist architecture and sea air shapes much of the city's character.
Depending on the view, the camera may show the towers, the crowds on the surrounding avenues, or the changing light across the façades. Mornings and late afternoons are usually the most atmospheric, when the low sun brings out the carved detail of the stonework. Clear days give the sharpest outlines, while overcast weather softens the colours of the stone.
Barcelona has a mild Mediterranean climate, with warm summers and cool, mild winters, so spring and autumn are comfortable for walking. The basilica is well served by public transport and is a short walk from the Eixample metro stations. Nearby on VizCams you can also find the Baix Guinardó camera, about one kilometre away, and the Platja CNVM camera in Vilassar de Mar.
