Burgos - Cathédrale de
🇪🇸 Castile and León · Spain — Altitude 860 m
This live stream looks toward the Gothic Cathedral of Burgos, one of Spain's most important religious buildings and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is useful for checking the sky over the city before a visit or simply following the light on the stone during the day. The page adds local time and weather so you can plan around conditions.
Burgos sits on the Arlanzón river in the high plateau of Castile and León, at about 860 metres above sea level. It was the first capital of Castile and is closely tied to the legend of El Cid. The cathedral, begun in the thirteenth century, is famous for its lacework stone spires, its tall Gothic interior and its many chapels. Its honey-coloured façades change noticeably as the sun moves across the sky.
Because the view is centred on a major monument, the most interesting moments tend to be early morning and late afternoon, when low sun brings out the carved detail of the façade. Depending on the framing, you may also see passing weather over the rooftops or the flow of the old town below. Clear winter days often give the sharpest light, while spring and autumn bring softer skies and fewer crowds in the streets.
Burgos has a continental climate with cold winters, warm dry summers and large temperature differences between day and night, so layers are useful in any season. The historic centre is compact and best explored on foot. Nearby cameras on this site cover Pineda de la Sierra, Padilla de Abajo and Santo Domingo de Silos, which give a sense of the surrounding countryside.
