This live camera looks over the marina and fishing port of Cala Ratjada, on the northeast coast of Mallorca. It is a practical way to see how the harbour looks right now, whether boats are coming and going, and what the sea and sky are doing before you head out.
Cala Ratjada is a small resort and fishing town in the Capdepera municipality, on the northeastern tip of Mallorca in the Balearic Islands of Spain. For generations its economy has rested on fishing and the sea, and the harbour remains the heart of the waterfront. Low limestone cliffs, pine-covered headlands and clear coves shape the coastline around it, and the town keeps a relaxed, working character outside the peak summer months.
Because the view is of a working port, the most interesting moments tend to be early morning, when fishing boats leave or return, and late afternoon, when the light softens over the water. Activity is greatest in spring and summer, while in winter the harbour is quieter. Conditions depend on the view and the season, so you may see calm water in summer or stronger swell and wind on windier days.
The Balearic climate is mild and sunny, with hot dry summers and warm, comparatively wet winters. The sea is at its warmest from late July to September, and May, June and September are often considered the most pleasant months for walking and swimming. Nearby cameras cover the Cala Gat inlet, Son Moll beach, Cala Agulla beach and the Cala Agulla bay, all within about a kilometre.
