This live camera looks over the Nowa Osada ski slope in Wisła, a mountain village in southern Poland's Silesian Beskids. It is useful for checking whether snow and slopes are open before you travel. The stream is provided by its owner, webcamera.pl, and embedded here with a link to the source.

About Wisła and the Beskids

Wisła lies in the Silesian Beskids, a range of forested hills and mountains on the border with Slovakia, at roughly 500 metres above sea level. The village is best known as a winter sports centre and as the home town of Adam Małysz, the ski jumper whose success brought the area wide attention. In summer the same valleys draw hikers and cyclists, and the landscape of spruce forest, meadows and wooden houses gives the place a quiet mountain character.

What you can watch on the camera

The camera is classed as a ski view, so the most useful time to watch is the morning and early afternoon, when light is good and the slope is in use during the season. Snow cover, grooming and the number of skiers change quickly with the weather, so a few minutes of viewing can tell you more than a forecast. Fog, low cloud and falling snow are common in the mountains, and the picture can be affected by them, so check the local weather block on this page as well.

Practical notes and nearby cameras

Winter brings the most reliable snow, usually from December to March, although conditions vary from year to year. Summer is mild and suited to walking. Nearby on VizCams you can also find the Adam Małysz ski jump, which is about 2 km away, and several views of Wisła itself, including the Siglany and Kozińce viewpoints. Those are good alternatives if this slope is quiet or covered in cloud.
