This live camera looks over the Old Town Market Square in Warsaw, the reconstructed historic heart of the Polish capital. Watch the square as it moves through the day and check conditions before you head out.
The Old Town sits on the bluff above the Vistula in central Warsaw. Much of it was rebuilt after the Second World War using old prints and drawings, so the square has the colourful townhouses, arcades and painted facades that visitors come to see. It is a compact area, easy to explore on foot, and it is surrounded by the Royal Castle, the city walls and narrow lanes with cafés and galleries.
Because the view is of an open city square, activity tends to build through the morning and peak around lunchtime and early evening, when cafés fill and pedestrians cross the market. In warmer months the terraces are busy, while in winter the square can look quiet and atmospheric, especially after dark. Changes in light and weather are usually most visible around sunrise and sunset.
Warsaw has a continental climate with warm summers and cold, often snowy winters, so spring and early autumn are comfortable for walking the old town. The Market Square is a short walk from the Royal Castle and the Vistula boardwalk. Nearby cameras on this site include the Plac Zamkowy view at the castle, the Świętokrzyski Bridge and the fountain in Śródmieście.
