Mayon Volcano - Albay

🇵🇭 Sorsogon · Philippines — Altitude 42 m
This live camera points at Bulusan Volcano, a stratovolcano in the southern tip of Luzon. It is useful for anyone following the mountain's activity from a distance or simply curious about how this forested cone looks through the day. The stream is broadcast by its owner and embedded here with a link to the original source.
Bulusan is one of the active volcanoes of the Bicol region, rising above the province of Sorsogon near the Pacific coast. Its summit is wrapped in dense tropical forest and it has a small crater lake at the top. The area is part of the volcanic belt that runs through the Philippines, and the surrounding landscape of farms, villages and hills gives it a quiet, rural character that differs from the busier cities of Luzon.
The camera is titled after the volcano itself, so the view is centred on the mountain rather than on a town or harbour. Daylight hours give the clearest picture of the cone and its vegetation. Cloud often gathers around the summit during the afternoon, so mornings are usually the best time to see the peak. Changes in visibility and cloud cover are worth watching, especially during the wet months.
Sorsogon has a tropical climate with a wet season that usually runs from June to November, when typhoons can bring heavy rain. The drier months from March to May are generally more comfortable for travel. Sorsogon city is the main gateway, and from there you can reach the volcano area by road. Nearby cameras include Mayon Volcano in Albay, another well-known cone in the Bicol region.
