Lima - Plage de La Herradura
🇵🇪 Lima Region · Peru — Altitude 5 m
This live stream looks out over La Herradura, one of the beaches on Lima's Pacific coast that locals visit for a walk or a swim. It is a useful window for checking how the sea and sky look before you plan a trip to the shore. The page also shows the local time and current weather for Lima.
La Herradura sits on the Miraflores and Barranco stretch of the Peruvian capital's coast, where cliffs rise above the sand and the Pacific meets a long, curved shoreline. Lima is a large city, and its beaches are a regular escape for residents on weekends. The coast is shaped by the cold Humboldt Current, which keeps the water cooler than many visitors expect even in summer.
The camera is most useful for judging the state of the sea, surfers in the water and the level of activity on the sand. Depending on the view, you may see the grey and white tones typical of Lima's winter skies, when a low cloud layer called garúa often hangs over the coast. Mornings and late afternoons usually give the clearest impression of conditions.
Lima has a mild desert-coast climate, with warm, bright weather from around December to April and cooler, cloudier days from June to September. Lima's other beaches, including Barranquito, Redondo, Pampilla and Punta Roquitas, lie within a few kilometres and are useful alternatives if one stretch of coast looks crowded or rough.
