About the place
Anacapri is the upper town of Capri, reached by road from the harbour and known for its whitewashed houses, gardens and quiet lanes. Monte Solaro rises to about 589 metres above sea level and is reached by chairlift, offering wide views over the island, the Sorrento peninsula and the open Tyrrhenian Sea. The landscape mixes Mediterranean scrub, terraces and limestone cliffs.
