Όρος Πάρνηθας Ανατολικά
🇬🇷 Attica · Greece — Altitude 1161 m
This live stream looks out from the eastern side of Mount Parnitha, the forested massif just north of Athens. It is useful for checking whether the mountain is clear or wrapped in cloud before planning a walk or drive up from the city.
Parnitha rises to around 1,400 metres north of the Attica basin and is one of the largest forested mountains close to the Greek capital. Its slopes are covered with fir, pine and oak, with streams, old monastery sites and walking routes that many Athenians use for weekend escapes. The summit area is wind-exposed and often cooler than the city below, so the view changes quickly with the weather.
The stream is a live video feed from the mountain, and its title places it on the eastern side. Depending on the view, you may see forest cover, ridgelines and the haze over the plain toward the city. Mornings are often the clearest time, while clouds and haze tend to build during the afternoon, especially in warmer months.
Summers in the area are hot and dry at lower elevations but noticeably milder on the mountain, while winters can bring snow and fog at higher points. Spring and autumn are generally the most comfortable seasons for walking. Nearby cameras on the same mountain and at the Flambouri refuge show other parts of the massif for comparison.
