Eus - Le Canigou
🇫🇷 Occitania · France — Altitude 378 m
This camera looks out from the mountain village of Eus toward Le Canigou, one of the most recognisable peaks of the eastern Pyrenees. Watch it to see how the massif looks from the foothills, how clouds gather around the summit and how the day's light changes across the slopes.
Eus sits at about 380 metres above sea level in the Pyrénées-Orientales department of Occitania, in the Conflent area of southern France. The village is known for its stone houses, narrow streets and the wide view over the valleys below. Its position on the flanks of the eastern Pyrenees gives it a landscape of terraces, forest and high ridges, with Le Canigou rising to the south as the dominant feature, a peak long regarded as a symbol of Catalan culture in this region.
The stream is a live video feed, so the picture changes with the weather and the hour. Mountain views like this are often clearest in the early morning, when the air is calm, and in the hours before sunset when the summit takes on warm colours. Clouds and mist are common over the peaks, so the view may be partly hidden on some days. Watching during clear spells in winter is particular rewarding, as snow on the upper slopes can make the massif stand out sharply.
The Pyrenees have a mountain climate with cool nights, wet spells and changeable conditions, and summers at this altitude are generally pleasant. Spring and early autumn are often good times to visit for walking. Other cameras in the wider area include Prats-de-Sournia, about 10 km away, as well as several ski-area views around Vallter 2000 and Amélie-les-Bains-Palalda, which are a short drive further into the mountains.
