Damüls - Vue vers le sud
🇦🇹 Vorarlberg · Austria — Altitude 1900 m
This camera looks south over the alpine village of Damüls, high in the Bregenz Forest. It is useful for judging snow cover, cloud and visibility from a distance. The live player is paired with local time and weather so you can see conditions at the moment you check.
Damüls sits at about 1,900 metres in the Vorarlberg region of western Austria, in the north-eastern part of the Bregenz Forest. It is a small mountain village built around winter sports and summer walking. The surrounding slopes are wooded in the lower parts and open pasture higher up, and the views reach across a wide valley. The village is known as one of the snowier spots in the region and as a base for the Faschina ski area.
The camera points south, so the most interesting moments are usually in the morning, when the light falls on the slopes, and in late afternoon, when the ridges take on warm colours. Cloud often gathers over the peaks in summer and early autumn, so the stream is a good way to check whether the summits are clear. In winter, the snow line and fresh snowfall are easy to follow. The picture depends on the weather and the season.
Winter is the main season here, with skiing and snowshoeing from December into spring. Summer suits hiking and cooler temperatures than the lowlands, while autumn often brings clear, settled days. Mornings are generally the calmest time for views. Nearby cameras include Damuls-Mellau, the Faschina view and the Furkajoch view to the west, which help you compare conditions across the area.
