Schröcken - Vue vers le nord-ouest
🇦🇹 Vorarlberg · Austria — Altitude 1265 m
This live camera looks out over Schröcken, a small alpine village in the Bregenz Forest part of Vorarlberg. It is a practical window for checking snow, cloud and light over the mountains before you travel or head out on a hike.
Schröcken sits at about 1,265 metres in the Großes Walsertal area, a high valley reached by a winding road through the mountains. It is known as a base for skiing in winter and for walking and mountain biking in summer. The landscape is open meadows, larch and spruce forest and steep limestone ridges, and the village is small enough that the surrounding peaks feel close at every hour of the day.
The title points to a view towards the northwest, so the camera is aimed across the valley toward the mountain slopes rather than the village streets. Depending on the view, you may see snow cover on the ridges in winter, green pastures in summer, and clouds moving through the valley. Early mornings and late afternoons usually give the clearest contrast on the slopes, and sudden weather changes are common in the Alps, so the picture can shift quickly.
Winters are long and snowy, with reliable snow cover from around December to March, while summers are mild and comparatively short. Late June to September is the most popular period for hiking. Nearby cameras on the same site include Körbersee, Salober and the Warth-Schröcken ski area views, which are useful if you want to compare conditions at different heights in the region.
