This live stream looks out over the golf course at Westendorf, a village in the Kitzbühel Alps of Tyrol. It is a simple way to check how the valley looks and what conditions are like before you plan a day outside. The embedded player is provided by the course and links back to its original source.
Westendorf sits in the Brixental, a broad valley south of the Kitzbühel Alps in western Austria. The village is known as a base for hiking, cycling and winter sports, with wide meadows, farmland and forested slopes rising on both sides. At around 775 metres above sea level, it has a mountain atmosphere without the crowds of the bigger resorts. Local life revolves around agriculture, tourism and the surrounding peaks.
Because this is a golf course view, the most interesting moments tend to be the early morning, when mist may lie over the valley, and the late afternoon, when low sunlight picks out the mountain ridges. In summer you may see green fairways under open skies, while in autumn the surrounding slopes change colour. Weather in the Alps can shift quickly, so a clear picture now may turn cloudy within an hour.
Westendorf has a continental Alpine climate, with warm summers and cold, snowy winters. Summer is generally the best time to visit for walking and golf, while winter brings skiing in the Hopfgarten and SkiWelt area. The village is easy to reach by car from Kitzbühel and Kufstein. Nearby on VizCams you can also watch the Westendorf FlyingCam and cameras at Hopfgarten im Brixental, including the Hohe Salve and Kleine Salve summits.
