Schöckl - Bergstation
🇦🇹 Styria · Austria — Altitude 1460 m
This live view looks out from the mountain station of the Schöckl, the familiar peak rising east of Graz in Styria. It is a quick way to judge the sky, cloud cover and visibility over the Styrian hills before you climb or drive up. The live player is embedded from the source, with local time and forecast shown below.
The Schöckl is one of the best known mountains near Graz, reaching about 1,440 metres and forming the landmark of the city's eastern skyline. Its summit area is a favourite with walkers and families, and the surrounding forests and meadows of the Styrian Alps give it a soft, green character in summer. On clear days the view stretches across the Graz basin toward the lowland plains, which makes the mountain feel close to the city and yet clearly separate from it.
Because this camera is set at the mountain station, the picture is mainly about the sky, the changing cloud layers and the weather moving over the Styrian hills. Depending on the view, you may see the valley haze in the morning, the light on the ridges in late afternoon, or fog rolling in from the lowlands. Mornings in clear weather are often the most rewarding, while low cloud can hide the city entirely for hours.
Summers are mild and popular for hiking, while winters bring snow that can make the upper slopes hard to reach without preparation. Check the live forecast on this page before setting out. Nearby on VizCams you will find cameras in Graz, including the Helmut List Halle and the ORF studio, which help you compare conditions in the city with those on the mountain.
