Judenburg - Süd
🇦🇹 Styria · Austria — Altitude 750 m
This camera looks south over the town of Judenburg, a market town in the Murtal valley of Upper Styria. It is a useful way to judge the day's conditions in this valley before planning a walk or drive. The live player below is supplied by its owner, and the weather and local time are updated on this page.
Judenburg sits on the Mur river at roughly 750 metres above sea level, in one of the main east-west corridors through the Styrian Alps. The old town grew up around its medieval streets and squares and has long been a stop on the road and rail routes between Graz and the Tauern region. The surrounding landscape mixes farmland, forest and steep mountain slopes, so the valley can look very different from one hour to the next depending on cloud and light.
The south-facing view is most interesting in clear weather, when the mountain ridges stand out sharply and shadows move across the slopes during the day. Early mornings often bring mist or low cloud in the valley floor, which can lift quickly. Seasonal changes are clear too: green meadows in summer, autumn colours on the hillsides and snow on the higher ground in winter. Check the weather block on this page to see whether visibility is likely to be good.
Judenburg has a continental mountain climate with warm summers and cold, snowy winters, so spring and early autumn are often the most comfortable times to visit. The town is easy to reach by road and rail. Other cameras in the area include Judenburg North, Allerheiligen near Fohnsdorf, the Eppenstein castle ruin and Pöls Oberkurzheim, which give you a wider picture of the region.
